A TERRA QUE HABITO é uma performance-instalação. Este momento nasceu de uma pequena residência artística para o Humanifest a convite do Teatro Quadrado nas montanhas que traçam o norte do nosso país. Montanhas que carregam as nossas anciãs, aquelas enraizadas desde que os castros eram habitados.
Fui recebida pelo vento, que me lembrou que sou corpo. Ao pedir às montanhas que me mostrassem os seus guardiões, encontrei uma raposa, dois lagartos e três águias.
Soube então que elas me ouviam.
Senti um imenso cuidado e carinho. Do musgo que aconchegou os meus pés, dos rochedos ~ gigantes adormecidos ~ que partilharam tanto no seu silêncio e do rio, que me lembrou que eu própria não sou fixa.
O que me guiou foi este cuidado, este carinho, este toque, este gesto.
As reflexões que despertaram em mim ficaram entre o que é meu e o que me foi herdado.
Um corpo é também uma montanha, uma árvore, um arbusto, um rio e um seixo.
Se quero cuidar da nossa terra, tenho de cuidar de quem nela habita.
Ao contornar as montanhas, num embalo de despedida, vi uma águia-real pousada na encosta. e soube.

A TERRA QUE HABITO (The Land I Inhabit) is a performance-installation born from an encounter between generations ~ a collaboration with my grandmother, Marta, and a dialogue with the northern mountains of our homeland. It is a gesture of remembrance and of return, where the body becomes the vessel through which land and ancestry speak.
The work emerged from a small artistic residency, hosted by the festival Humanifest and project Teatro Quadrado. Among ancient slopes, places where the breath of the castros still lingers, where the stones remember. There, I listened. The wind reminded me that I am body. The moss cradled my steps. The river whispered that nothing remains still. The mountains answered through their guardians: a fox, two lizards, three eagles. I understood that I was being heard.
At its core, the project explores care as a form of knowing, the tenderness that arises between what is inherited and what is lived. Through performance, installation, and ritual gesture, the work moves between body and landscape, tracing the invisible threads that bind them.
A body is also a mountain, a tree, a river, a stone.
To care for the land is to care for all who dwell within it.
As the journey closed, an eagle rested on the hillside, a silent witness to departure and continuity.
From that moment came the knowing: nothing is ever truly gone, only transformed.
A Terra Que Habito is an offering to presence, to the earth that shapes us, to the hands that came before, to the gestures that remain.
